MNT 1.5 million to be paid in 2011 and 2012, including MNT 500,000 in cash

The Government has decided to grant MNT1.5 million to every citizen of Mongolia, in two phases – in 2011 and 2012. MNT500,000 will be paid in cash, while the rest will be distributed as entitlement to retirement benefits and health insurance, to access education and health, and to own apartments.

International festival of Morin Khuur

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ International festival of Morin Khuur (Mongolian national musical instrument) will take place April 28-May 4 in Ulaanbaatar. The festival, run the second time, is co-organized by the World Morin Khuur Association, Mongolia's Center of Morin Khuur, Association of Morin Khuur and the "Ikel" foundation of developing folk arts.

Mongolian mountaineers will climb the Paldor

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Mongolian mountaineers will climb the Paldor that is one of the very early climbed Himalayan Peaks in Nepal. The Paldor Peak lies in the range of Ganesh Himal towering up to 5,896 meters above sea.

Six million heads of livestock died in Mongolia

Six million heads of livestock died in Mongolia due to extreme weather condition known as dzud. 14.3% of the 44 million heads counted in the beginning of 2010 have been lost. These livestock are the primary source of income and food for nomadic families, and as a result thousands are struggling to survive.
