Location

The fascinating country of Mongolia is situated in the plateau of Central Asia at an average altitude of 1580 meters above sea level, which makes Mongolia one of the highest countries in the world. Mongolia is huge and land-locked nation bordering China with 4.673 km in the south and Russia with 3485 km in the north, occupying territory of 1.567 million sq. km, which makes it the 18th largest..

Climate

Mongolia has an extreme continental climate with long, cold winters and short summers. The average temperature in summer is +20c (+65F) and in winter –20c (-13F). The wind is 1.5-4.5m/s and average rainfall is 200-220 mm. There are 257 cloudless sunny days a year and is known to the world as a country of “Blue Sky”.

Natural zone

Mongolia has rich nature and great diversity. There are 7 natural zones, namely High Mountain Zone, Taiga Forest Zone, Mountain Forest Steppe Zone, Steppe Zone, Desert-Steppe Zone, Gobi Desert Zone, Wetlands. It can be divided into four natural zones from north to south: mountain-forest steppe, mountain steppe and semi-desert and desert in the extreme south.

Over 1.6 million square kilometers (618,000 square miles), Mongolia is the sixth-largest country in Asia and 18th in the world with population of 2.9 million, which makes Mongolia one of the least densely populated areas in Asia. Pre-school education

Mongolia has an extensive, state-financed pre-school education system. Currently there are over 700 state and private kindergartens. Kindergartens enroll children over the age of 3. In Ulaanbaatar, there are also some privately run nursery schools and kindergartens, many offer language training, for example, English.

Political system

Mongolia is a nation with 2,200 years tradition of national statehood. In the early 1990s, Mongolia brought an end to the old political regime and started to establish a new democratic system. New Constitution came into effect on February 12, 1992 based on "Mongolia must follow a democratic and parliamentary form of government" ...

Mongolia has Parliamentarian and multiparty system. and is divided into 21 aimags (provinces) and 342 soums and districts (urban and rural divisions), 1681 baghs and khoroos (urban and rural communes).
