Ulaanbaatar city, the capital of Mongolia was established in 1639 in central Mongolia and was moved to its present location in 1778 after several resettlements by nomads. Now the capital is located in the right bank of Tuul River, surrounded by 4 sacred mountains. Until the Revolution of 1921, the city was made up of traditional felt yurts, but it developed into a modern European style city. Your visit will enable you to see the mixture of traditional felt yurts from ancient times, Soviet style of apartment blocks from Communist times and the modern style tall glass towers. Since almost half of the Mongolian population lives in Ulaanbaatar, it is an educational, economic, political and vital center of Mongolia.

Amarbayasgalant monastery was established by order of Manju emperor king Enkh- Amgalan Khan built between 1727-1736 to honor his teacher Undur Gegeen Zanabazar. The monastery consists of over 30 temples. It is one of the most intact monasteries and was not destroyed in Communist time as the Mongolian government protected it since 1943. It is an excellent place to enjoy the Buddhist cultural heritages of Mongolia.

Uran Togoo is an extinct volcano and is located in a beautifully scenic area of Khutag-Undur soum. This beautiful mountain was protected as a natural monument since 1965, and has many varieties of rare and wild animals in the surrounding areas. Bulgan province has an area of 48.7 thousand km square and a population of 65 thousand people. The province is a mountainous place with forests, rivers and lakes. The nature is quite attractive and there are plenty of animals and birds to spot.

Huvsgul Lake National Park is the largest freshwater and the most beautiful lake in Mongolia. It is 2612 km square and 262 m deep, and contains 1% of world fresh water. The area is a paradise for outdoor travelers and there are plenty of activities such as hiking, birding, fishing, horseback riding, kayaking, exploring.

Day 5

Destination / Accommodation: Huvsgul Lake National Park / Huvsgul Dalai camp

Tsaatan or reindeer people are the people who live in the northernmost part of Mongolia, among the high and cool dense forest of Taiga mountains. They keep reindeers and use reindeers’ meat and milk for their food needs as well as riding them in the forest. There are not many families in Huvsgul province and the Tsaatan population is currently decreasing.

Activity: Visit to a local Tsaatan or reindeer family and explore their lifestyle. You may try riding a reindeer. Horse riding (1 hour). Relax in the beautiful nature.

Day 6

Destination / Accommodation: Jaragalant small town / Jargal jiguur camp

Jargalant is a small town on the road to Murun, the capital of Huvsgul province. There is a hot spring which is sometimes used for medical treatments.

Activity: Drive to Jaragalant small town. You may take a bath of hot spring. Free hiking and explore the area. Play games.

Day 7

Destination / Accommodation: Horgo National Park& Terkh White Lake / Badmaarag camp

Horgo and Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake National Park. A magnificent region of extinct volcanoes in Arkhangai province. The 773 km square area, including Horgo extinct volcano and Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur was protected by Mongolian government since 1965. The area boasts pristine nature, majestic landscape, crystal lake, plenty of small caves and wonderful whole host of myths and legends.

Activity: Drive to Horgo National Park& Terkh White Lake. Visit to legendary Taikhar rock. Take picture on the way and near the Chuluut river canyon. Visit to Zuun Salaa mod which is sacred tree by locals. Enjoy a hiking to Horgo extinct volcano crater. View the panorama of the National Park and take pictures. Visit to Yellow Dog’s cave, Ice cave and Youth’s cave. Watching the lake birds by the Terkhiin Tsagaan lake.

Day 8

Destination / Accommodation: Horgo National Park& Terkh White Lake / Badmaarag camp

Horgo extinct volcano. Horgo Mountain was an active volcano about 8 thousand years ago. A splendid panorama over the whole region and the lake can be seen from the summit of the volcano. There can be observed numerous birds: Asian Dowitcher, Black Duck, Black Woodpeeker, Far Eastern Curlew, Great Bustard, Lesser Kestrel, Pallas’s Eagle, Relict Gull, Swan Goose, White-napped Crane etc.

Activity: Enjoy a hiking to Horgo extinct volcano crater. View the panorama of the National Park and take pictures. Visit to Yellow Dog’s cave, Ice cave and Youth’s cave. Watching the lake birds by the Terkhiin Tsagaan lake. Free hiking on the lake shore and hear the camp.

Day 9

Destination / Accommodation: Tsenkher hot spring / Shiveet Manhan camp

Tsenkher hot spring is located among the forested mountains in Tsenkher soum, Arkhangai province. The spring is 97C and the water is good for your skin and bones. There are 2 small swimming pools dedicated for guests’ bathing.

Activity: Drive to Tsenher hot spring. You can have a bath in the spring water. Hiking in the forest and admire the pretty flowers. Read book outside. Play games.

Day 10

Destination / Accommodation: Karakorum and Erdenezuu monastery / Khaan Taij camp

Karakorum was a capital of Mongolian Great Empire of Chinggis Khaan in the 13th century. Now it is one of the biggest soum of Mongolia and there are some popular visitors’s spots, including ancient Erdenezuu monastery, Turtle Rock, Penis Rock and Great Kings’ monument. Erdenezuu monastery was established in 1586 and has been a protected monument since 1944. The monastery has 108 stupas, an active temple and a worthy monastery museum which displays Buddhist cultural items from 16-18th centuries.

Activity: Drive to Karakorum and Erdenezuu monastery. Take photos on the way Erdenezuu monastery. its famous museum. Visit to funny Penis Rock, Great Kings’ monument and Turtle Rock where you may see the panoramic view of Karakorum and Erdenezuu monastery. - Hiking to the Orkhon River.

Day 11

Destination / Accommodation: Ongi temple ruins / Ongi Secret camp

Ongi Temple which was one of the biggest monasteries of Mongolia in the 18th century. The temple was established on both right and left bank of Gobi river – OngiBut then it was destroyed in communist times. There is a small ger museum where you can see very interesting remainders of the ancient monastery. The evening view of the ruins is the perfect time for wonderful photographs!

Activity: Drive to Ongi temple ruins. Visit to a rebuilt main temple and a small ger museum which displays a leader monk’s used items. Hike to a type of ancient stupa ruin. Hike around the area and take some good photos.

Day 12

Destination / Accommodation: Bayanzag / Gobi camp

Bayanzag, where you will see famous Flaming Cliffs and the forest of Gobi saxaul trees. The area is famous for its fossils from dinosaurs who lived there 70 million years ago. The dinosaur fossilized eggs and several types of dinosaur bones were among the very first dinosaur fossils to be discovered in the world, and were found in Bayanzag by Americak scientist Roy Chapmen in 1922. The cliffs of Bayanzag turn flame orangein the sunset.

Activity: Drive to Bayanzag. Visit small Paleontology museum of Bayanzag and Interest some findings were founded by locals. Free walk & photograph in flaming cliffs and saxaul forest. If you want, you can look for dinosaur eggs and fossils. Watch 15 minutes fact film about Roy Chapmen’s expeditions in the camp.

Day 13

Destination / Accommodation: Khongor Sand Dunes / Gobi discovery camp

Khongor Sand Dunes is located in the western part of Southern Gobi province. At between 180km and 300m high, these are some of the biggest sand dunes in Mongolia. The sand dune color change, walking on dunes, riding camel and sun sitting are the most exciting things here. Nomadic family. Most nomadic families in the Gobi usually have big number of camels and some goats. The family will be simple nomads living near the dunes. You may visit them, enjoy their hospitality, have some camel riding and try some dairy products.

Activity: Drive to Khongor Sand Dunes. Visit the nomadic family. 1 hour camel ride trial by the Khongor Sand Dunes. Free hiking and photograph in different part of the sand dunes. Star gazing in the evening.

Day 14

Destination / Accommodation: South Gobi, Yolin Am / Gobi Mirage camp

The Gobi is one of the world’s unusual natural zones and it covers a large part of Mongolian territory. Many people think that the Gobi is like the Sahara desert. In truth, the Gobi is a very different landscape, not just sand. It is home to nomadic families and plenty of rare & domesticated animals such as two-humped Bactrian camel, Gobi bear, Ibex, gazelle, lizards . The temperatures can fluctuate between +40 degree in summer time and -30 degree in winter time. Big sand dunes and ancient dinosaur fossils are the symbols of the Gobi. Yolin Am or “Vulture Gorge” is apicturesque place, surrounded by sheer rocky walls, with glaciers even in July and it has been protected by Mongolian government since 1965. There is a small museum of Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park. The museum displays the geographical condition, flora, fauna, minerals and some dinosaur fossils.

Activity: Drive to Eagle Valley. Natural Museum of Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park. Hiking to glacier and photographing in Yoliin Am, some wildlife viewing. Watch a movie that named “Weeping camel” or others. Play Mongolian traditional game.

Day 15

Destination / Accommodation: Ulaanbaatar City / 4* Hotel

International Intellectual Museum displays over 11,000 intellectual items from 130 countries around the world and over 5,000 of them are puzzles. Most of the displays of the museum represent various branches of science in simplified form by using toys and puzzles. Visitors are allowed to touch and challenge themselves by trying to solve the puzzles. National Folklore Concert; it is a witness the wonder of Mongolian throat singing, melodious dancing, pliant contortionism and melodious musical instruments.

Activity: Fly to Ulaanbaatar from Dalanzadgad (Eznis Airways, one and half hour). International Intellectual museum, shopping for souvenirs, cashmere and woolen products, Show Mongolian traditional folklore concert by Moon Stone or Tumen Ekh ensemble.

Meals: Breakfast - tourist camp, Lunch – City nomads, Dinner - BD's barbeque restaurant

Day 16

Activity: You will be transferred to the airport.
