Day 1

Ulaanbaatar city, the capital of Mongolia was established in 1639 in central Mongolia and was moved to its present location in 1778 after several resettlements by nomads. Now the capital is located in the right bank of Tuul River, surrounded by 4 sacred mountains. Until the Revolution of 1921, the city was made up of traditional felt yurts, but it developed into a modern European style city. Your visit will enable you to see the mixture of traditional felt yurts from ancient times, Soviet style of apartment blocks from Communist times and the modern style tall glass towers. Since almost half of the Mongolian population lives in Ulaanbaatar, it is an educational, economic, political and vital center of Mongolia.

Day 2-3

Elsen Tasarhai sand dunes located in Burd soum of Uvurhangai province, 270 km west of Ulaanbaatar. The area is surrounded by sand dunes, small lake, river and exotic granite mountains. It presents a unique combination of sand dunes and green oasis. Elsen Tasarhai can be conveniently combined with the excursion to Erdene Hamba monastery ruins and the camel trekking to the dunes.

Optional hiking to the spring and ancient rock drawings, full day camel riding to picturesque Khugnu Khaan Mountain, Khadagt Khad, Takhilt lake and sand dunes. Visit to Erdene Khamba temple and Sky temple on the way. Enjoy hiking in surrounding areas, relaxation in peaceful nature.

Day 4

Karakorum was a capital of Mongolian Great Empire of Chinggis Khaan in the 13th century. Now it is one of the biggest soum of Mongolia and there are some popular visitors’s spots, including ancient Erdenezuu monastery, Turtle Rock, Penis Rock and Great Kings’ monument. Erdenezuu monastery was established in 1586 and has been a protected monument since 1944. The monastery has 108 stupas, an active temple and a worthy monastery museum which displays Buddhist cultural items from 16-18th centuries.

Day 5

Hustai National Park is the home of Takhi horses (best known as Prejwalski’s horses). Scholars reintroduced the Takhi horse here in 1992. Hustai is a beautiful area of steppe and forest steppe zone, and is very peaceful.with a lot of opportunities to see wildlife.

Day 6

Destination / Accommodation: Terelj National Park / Terelj Lodge camp

Terelj National Park is located 70 km from Ulaanbaatar and protected by Mongolian government since 1993. The park has an area of 2932 km square and it is famous for its extraordinary formations of rocks, gorgeous nature scenery and Aryabal temple. Aryabal temple is known as a Meditation temple to Mongols, set in a very attractive area.

Activity: Drive to Terelj national parkVisit to a nomadic family and discover their lifestyle. Yak or cow cart riding (1 hour) Enjoy horse riding (half day) to: Turtle rock formation and meditation temple. You may shoot archery and hiking in the beautiful nature.

Day 7

Destination / Accommodation: Ulaanbaatar City / 4* Hotel

International Intellectual Museum displays over 11,000 intellectual items from 130 countries around the world and over 5,000 of them are puzzles. Most of the displays of the museum represent various branches of science in simplified form by using toys and puzzles. Visitors are allowed to touch and challenge themselves by trying to solve the puzzles. National Folklore Concert; it is a witness the wonder of Mongolian throat singing, melodious dancing, pliant contortionism and melodious musical instruments.

Activity: Drive back to Ulaanbaatar, International Intellectual museum and shopping for souvenirs, cashmere and woolen products. See the Mongolian traditional folklore concert by Moon Stone or Tumen Ekh ensemble.

Meals: Breakfast - tourist camp, Lunch – Gobi restaurant, Dinner - BD's barbeque restaurant

Day 8

Activity: You will be transferred to the airport.

Meals: Breakfast - hotel restaurant
