Do you want to experience adventure and nomadic culture while hiking through some of the most wild and beautiful landscape in the world? Then this is the trip for you. The Altai Mountain Trek takes you to the highlights of Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. Traveling from Ulgii, the center of westernmost province to the summits of Altai Five Peaks through the eagle hunters’ homeland, our route takes us from arid fantastic landscapes through rich pastures and finally to the panoramic peaks of the Altai mountain range (over 4000 meters high). Your tour will be a mix of travel on and off the beaten track and some long road journeys with camel support. A tour for the explorer in you!
Brief itinerary
Day 1. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. Meet at the airport. Take a city tour. (L+D)
Day 2. Fly to Ulgii (Eznis Airways, three and half hour). Take a local city tour. (B+L+D)
Day 3. Drive to Tsagaan gol. Trek to Altai Mountain trek. (B+L+D)
Day 4-5. Full day, trek through Altai Mountains. (B+L+D)
Day 6. Drive back to Ulgii province. Visit to a Kazak nomad family on the way. (B+L+D)
Day 7. Fly to Ulaanbaatar from Ulgii. Take a city tour. (B+L+D)
Day 8. Departure Mongolia. (B)
