What makes Mongolia unique and truly exotic? Of course, its wide open steppes, ancient history, cultural heritage, and extremely bumpy roads. But, most importantly, experiencing the Mongolian nomadic lifestyle and meeting the local nomads are really something you can not miss. How does an offer to make you live like a Mongolian nomad for a week sound to you? You will live in a Mongolian traditional dwelling - ger - that will be provided just for you alongside a local host family whom you will live with like their family member. You can ride horses on the wide steppes, herd and milk animals, learn to make fermented mare’s milk (many Mongolians’ favorite drink), carry drinking water from a well on a cow cart, watch and participate in a mini Naadam festival, build your ger with the family members and many other activities  during your stay with nomads. In contrast you will also see the main city of Ulaanbaatar before you head out to live with the nomads.

Brief itinerary

Day 1. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. Meet at the airport. Take a city tour. (L+D) 

Day 2. Drive to Terelj National park. Visit to Turtle rock & meditation temple. (B+L+D) 

Day 3. Ride horse in the steppe. Help the nomads herding their livestock. (B+L+D)         

Day 4. Help milking cows too early. Boil milk and make dairy products. (B+L+D)       

Day 5. Last rounds of wrestling, archery, ankle bone shooting & horse racing. (B+L+D)

Day 6. Drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Take a city tour. (B+L+D)   

Day 7. Departure Mongolia. (B)
