How does cycling through Mongolia, one of the most uninhabited and untouched lands of the world, mostly on dust road sound to you? Challenging, but adventurous right? This cycling trip will be organized mostly in the northern part of Mongolia where the nature is more picturesque than any other parts of the country and the area is relatively suitable for adventurous cyclists. In addition to the cycling adventure and pleasure, you will stay by the purest and the most marvelous lake of the country and visit Tsaatan or reindeer people in Huvsgul. A few night camping experience is included as well. Sounds good? Then scroll down to see more of the trip.

   Day 1
Erdene Zuu monastery
  • Arrival in Ulaanbaatar (UB); our guide and driver pick you up from the airport and bring you to the hotel.
  • Visit to the National History Museum, a very remarkable museum displaying artifacts from the Stone Age to the present of Mongolia and Central Asia.
  • Visit to the Zaisan Hill War Memorial,, dedicated to Mongolian and Russian soldiers battled in the Second World War, where you can have a panoramic view of the city.
    
 

   Day 2
Erdene Zuu monastery
  • Drive to Urgoo ger camp in Selenge province.
  • Cycle to Amarbayasgalant monastery, which was dedicated to Zanabazar, the first religious head of Mongolia from the king of Qing dynasty.
  • Cycle back to the camp.
 

   Day 3
Orkhon waterfall
  • After breakfast, cycle and drive to Erdenet city, one of the biggest city of the country. On the way, you will cycle by Khushoot Mountain, where you can have a beautiful view of the area. Cycling about 40km both on improved dust road and asphalt.
  • Stay in a hotel in Erdenet city.
 

   Day 4
Mongolian nomads
  • Drive to Bulgan, the capital of Bulgan province.the forest of Gobi saksaul trees.
  • Cycle to Uran extinct volcano crater. The area is fairly picturesque, but a little bit challenging to cycle through.
  • Explore the wildlife, fauna and flora of the area in the evening.
  • Stay in a ger camp at the area. Cycling about 30 km on dust road.
 

 Day 5
Western Mongolia
  • Cycle to Teel River, a cute small river in Bulgan province. The area around the river is pretty impressive to cycle by. Hike around the area and take some good photos. Wonderful evening view of the ruin is perfect for good shots!
  • Visit a local nomad family (feel free to taste traditional food and drinks at the family!).
  • Stay for the night in tents. Cycling around 25 km on dust road.
 

 Day 6
  • Cycle to Selenge River, the biggest river of the country, in Bulgan province.
  • Enjoy the day by hiking around, swimming in the river and so on.
  • Stay for the night in tents. Cycling around 35 km on dust road.
 

 Day 7
  • Cycle through Khutagundur village , Husvgul province, to Namnan Mountain. It is another beautiful area for camping out.
  • Stay close to Khutagundur village. Cycling around 35km on dust road.
 

 Day 8
Western Mongolia
  • Cycle to Ikh Uul village, another small village in Huvsgul province. Interestingly, Ikh Uul and Khutagundur villages look very alike. You can enjoy the beauty of nature in depth once more.
  • Stay for the night in tents. Cycling around 30 km on dust road.
 

 Day 9
  • Drive through Murun, the capital of Huvsgul province to Huvsgul National Park , where the largest freshwater and the most beautiful lake of the country exists. You can go shopping for basic stuff in Murun.
  • Go on a short boat trip in the lake.
  • Stay for the night at a ger camp.
 

 Day 10
  • Visit to a local Tsaatan or reindeer family and explore their lifestyle. These enigmatic people live in the depth of the forest, herd reindeer for living: milking, riding etc. You may try riding a reindeer!
  • Enjoy horseback riding around the lake in the late afternoon.
 

 Day 11
  • Drive back to Murun and fly to UB.Discover the lake by taking a boat tour.
  • Go shopping specifically for souvenirs, cashmere and woolen products.
  • Go to a traditional folklore concert and witness the wonder of Mongolian throat singing followed by the farewell dinner.
 

 Day 12
  • Be transferred from your hotel to the airport.

Services included in the cost: Twin bedded rooms in a hotel *** shared accommodation in tourist ger camps, guiding and interpreting service, all meals in countryside, all meals in Ulaanbaatar, domestic flights, transfers by vehicle 4x4, local guide, all entrance fees, horse and camel ride trials.

Services not included in the cost: International airfares, personal equipments, alcoholic drinks, travel Insurance.
